The biggest change in updating this cheap furniture was changing the color with spray paint. But before we did that, we added molding on the sides, just like a picture frame, to add a little interest to it. We also added wooden furniture feet to the bottom to add some height and additional visual appeal. While the paint dried, we used Glue Dots Mini Squares to attach a fun fabric to the existing back panel. After reattaching the back panel the bookcase was much more sophisticated, pretty, and decorative!
